One of my other passions is traveling. My mom has always liked traveling and meeting new places, so I think that made me curious and wanting to always meet new places. When I was little I went to live to the states for about 1 year and a half. I remember that I would just talk in spanish in my kindergarten and all the kids would look at me like if I was a freak. It was pretty hard for me. After being a year or 6 months on that kindergarten, I changed to another one. In this new kindergarten I made a lot of more friends, and my best friend was Hanna. A year after being in the US I moved back to CR. Two years later, I went with my mom, little brother and grandma to my uncle’s college graduation in Spain. When we arrived we went to my uncles apartment. It was so messy that you could easily notice he is my uncle. After his graduation I really wanted to go to London, so we all went to England and my grandma went to the Netherlands. I dont remember really well ALL the things that we did, but I really remember the double-decker buses and Legoland!! Legoland is an amusement park, but all made of LEGOOO!!! It was really cool. My brother was only 6v months old, so my mom had to stay with him but I went on all the rides with my uncle. I really enjoy new adventures and the feeling of adrenalin. Of all the rides I went the one I remember the most and not by looking at the pictures, was the dragon roller coaster. After being like a week in London, my mom wanted to visit Switzerland because when she was 13 years old she lived in Switzerland for 2 years. I did like Switzerland, but it wasn’t as exciting as London. We went to where my mom used to live, and the “mom” still lived there. There was this really nice park, and my brother tried his first chocolate! I don’t quite remember much, but I remember I was REEAAALLLLYYY happy to come back home. After that I didn’t travel that much. When I was 7 I went with my grandma and two cousins to Cancun. It was a nice trip because I became closer to my cousins, and now we have a really strong relationship. Then in 2002 I went to Washington D.C. It was really nice because I went to my old kindergarten and my teacher still teached there! We also went to the old pizza place where you used to eat THE best pizzas ever, but it was close =(. I think that the saddest thing was when I saw Hanna. I was only 8 years old, but I still had mixed emotions when I saw her. It was so cool seeing how she changed and ow her personality was. After that day I never saw her again, but I wont ever forget that day. Last year I traveled a lot!! In January 07 I went with 2 cousins of mine, my mom and my brother. It was amazing. We first went to vermont to ski/snowboard. It was really cool when we arrived because my cousins and my brother had never seen snow, so you could see the bright/spark in their eyes when they saw the snow. The last time that I had seen snow was when I was 3 so it was also a very special feeling. One really cool thing was that I spent my birthday there, so I had a fun time. After we went to Orlando, DISNNEEYY!! When I went on the Hollywood Tower of Terror, I was so scared!! My cousin was also scared that when she was holding my mom’s hand she “digged” her nails into my mom’s hand and made her bleed. Also in island’s of adventures we went on the hulk roller coaster 12 times in a row!!!!!!! It was a great experience. In February I went to again to Cancun. It was a nice trip, but the first one I liked it so much that I had really big expectations for this one, so I didn’t enjoy it that much. March…..AASCA IN PANAMA!!!! I was so excited when I got chosen that I just couldn’t believe I was going to my first international soccer tournament. In August before entering school, I went for 4 days to San Andres, Colombia. It was really nice, because first I had never been to Colombia, or to such a pretty island. Also something that made it really nice was that I was able to see one of my best friends. January of 2008 I went again to Vermont. It was really nice and all, but I didn’t go with my cousins so it was as fun as last years. Instead of going to Orlando we went to Boston and NYC!!!!! I looked like a freak jumping up and down when I arrived in times square. It was THE best thing!! I also went to broadway to see The Phantom of the Opera. It was so cool. My last trip was on March when I went to El Salvador to the AASCA Tournament. On vacations I am going to go for 17 days to Paris, France. I am so exited because I am going with my grandma and my other two cousins. We are the only three girls in our family, so it is going to be nice that we are not surrounded by boys! I am also looking forward to getting to know my cousins way better and we can get to be friends not only because we are cousins. The thing I love about traveling is that every time you get in the plain you are going to go explore something new, and at the end you might be sad that you are coming back but you are happy you are back home!!!
On wednesday 7, with my entire grade I went to Manuel Antonio. The firtst day we had to be in the school at 6:00am because the bus was going to leave at 6:30am. When we got there we were divided into two different bus, because some of us picked the superman zip-line for our “tour” in Turubari and some picked canopy. Turubari was a place like two hours away from Manuel Antonio. We stopped there to have breakfast, do our “ride” and then have lunch. When we were gong on the bus to our way to turubari, our bus broke down. We didn’t know what to do, fortunately a bus driver stopped and sad that he could help us by taking us to Turubari. When we arrived all of us were very hungry and hot and wanting to pee. After we had breakfast we were againgdivided into the same two groups. Once we were divided the canopy group when ahead first. When we started goigup the tower for the zip-line I was so scared that I almost peed my pants. Once up there they started to put on us ll our equipment. After 20 of us had our equipment on they started to lug us in the zipline and we would just go! I was the sixth person. I was really scared, and I was regretting that why had I chosed this activity. Once I started I was screaming as hard as I could, and I ccidentally said some bad words. Once we were all done, we had to do the hike. Only that the hike was a two ho walk! We all complained and then one of our teachers said that we weren’t going to do the hike. Then we walked to the place in which we were going to have lunch. There the canopy group already had lunch. We ate for about an tour and then we started walking to catch up with the canopy group. After we were all odne we ate ice-cream and got back on the bus. Then it was a two hour ride. Once we ¡were at the hotel we had trouble with the rooms but finally got our rooms. We had dinner and then we ould be in the pool fr about an hour and a half. Then at 10:30pm, lights out! On thursday our teachers woked us up at 6:00 am bea¡cause we were doing white water rafting. When we got on the bus, we drove for about 30 minutes until we arrived to the place we were going to have breakfast. Aftyer breakfast we got on the buses and drove for about one hour and a half. When we got to the place of the rafting, we had to get into small groups for the rafting boats. We did rafting for about two hours or more and when we finished we ate lunch there next to the river. When we finished we got on the bus and came back to the hotel. When we got we got the oportunity to be for about two hours in the beach and then we could be on the pool. After having dinner we had the Lord of the Flies fashion show. It was really cool. Then we got some chill time around the pool and in the rooms and then we went to sleep. On friday our teachers woke us up at 7:00 am and we went to the park. We were divided into two groups, one for community service and other beach time and then we switched. After having lunch we got our bags into the bus and came ome. It was an excelent trip!
Another of my passions is gymnastics. I don’t practice this sport anymore, but I still like seeing it in TV or go match my cousins in competitions. I started practicing gymnastics when I was 7 years old. I was in love with this sport. In gymnastics there are 10 levels. When I entered I was in level 4. The good thing was that when I started there was a froup of about 4 girls of my same age, and we all stayed together. When I turned eight years old I advanced to level 5. In this level, in floor, we had to do round-off double backhandspring. I had a lot of problems trying to do the round-off double backhandspring. In vault, we just had to do the ” paloma”. In bars our routine was really easy, and evrytime that I had a competition I would always do excellent. The beam was where I wuld ALWAYS would do terrible! Because of beam I couldn’t advance level. All my friends that where with me in level 5 advanced to level 7 because they could do a backhandspring in beam, but I just couldn’t. In all the other “equipments” (floor, bars and vault) I had all the right “moves” or capacity to be in level 7, but beam was in my way. I quitted gymnastic when I turned 9 but I had to come back so two months later I entered gymnastics again This time I did all I could, but my coach said taht she couldn’t upgrade me to level 7 until the end of the year. Eventhough I could not try at all because in January I would start level 7, I still went to all practices. We had practice every day from 5pm to 9pm. On Saturdays we went from 8 am to 12pm, then we had lunch there in the gym and strated again form 2 pm to 8pm. When we had competition we would also trianed on sundays. When I turned 11 i decided to quit gymnastics. I just couldn’t handle anymore, I mean, I couldn’t go out with my friends and I didn’t had a social life. Also I had a lot of problems with my school because evrytime I went to a competition I would lose a lot of school work. I still like gymnastics a lot and I sometimos watch it in TV or go watch my cousins in their competitions. But there is sometthing that I am sure about, it is that eventhough I love gymnastics I can’t go back.
